Practical nutrition support focused on protein, sleep, weight, and load tolerance — the things that measurably affect musculoskeletal recovery. No supplement sales, no proprietary panels.

This service exists because of a pattern we kept seeing. A patient does everything right — shows up, does the exercises, follows the plan — and recovers noticeably slower than someone with an identical presentation. When you dig into it, the difference is almost never the treatment. It is sleeping five hours, eating sixty grams of protein a day, and carrying more load through the joint than it can currently tolerate.

None of that is exotic. All of it is fixable. And none of it requires a proprietary protocol.

The two things that matter most

Protein. If we have you doing progressive loading work, you are asking your body to build tissue. Most patients we assess are eating well under what that requires. Getting to roughly 1.6 grams per kilogram of bodyweight is unglamorous and it changes recovery more than any other single dietary variable.

Sleep. Short sleep lowers pain thresholds — this is a well-replicated finding, not a wellness talking point. Patients sleeping under six hours consistently report higher pain at equivalent tissue states. Treating a spine while someone runs on five hours is working against a headwind you can simply remove.

Weight, handled like adults

If bodyweight is a meaningful factor in your knee or low back pain, we will say so once, clearly, without moralising, and then only revisit it if you want to. Every kilogram removed takes several times that off the knee through the gait cycle, which is a mechanical fact worth knowing.

If you do not want to work on it, that is entirely your call and it changes nothing about the care you get here.

What we will not do

No proprietary lab panels. No detoxes. No elimination diets without a clinical reason. No supplement sales. No claims that a food will fix a mechanical problem.

What is left is the boring part that works.

How it runs

  1. Find out what you actually eat

Not what you intend to eat. A few days of honest recording tells us more than any questionnaire. There is no judgement attached to this — we need the real baseline.

  2. Fix the two biggest things

Usually protein intake and sleep. Those two account for most of the recovery difference we see clinically. Everything else is optimisation on top.

  3. Change one thing at a time

Comprehensive overhauls fail within three weeks. One change, sustained for a month, then the next. It is slower on paper and much faster in practice.

  4. Refer when it is not our lane

Eating disorders, complex metabolic disease, and medical nutrition therapy go to a registered dietitian or your physician. We know where our scope ends.

Nutrition coaching

What people ask about this.

Do you sell supplements?

No. Not at the front desk, not through a portal, not through an affiliate link. The financial conflict inherent in a provider recommending and selling the same product is real, and removing it makes our advice worth more. If we think a specific supplement is worth trying — creatine, vitamin D, protein powder — we will tell you what to look for and you can buy it wherever it is cheapest.

Is there really a link between diet and back pain?

There is a real one, though it is less dramatic than wellness marketing suggests. The strongest connections are through body mass and joint load, protein availability for tissue repair, sleep quality, and systemic inflammation in metabolic disease. Those are meaningful. What is not well supported is the idea that a specific anti-inflammatory food list will resolve a mechanical back problem.

Do you run food sensitivity testing?

No. IgG food sensitivity panels are not supported by the evidence and routinely produce long lists of false positives that lead people to eliminate foods unnecessarily. If you suspect a genuine food intolerance or allergy, that is a conversation for your physician or an allergist.

Will you tell me to go keto or carnivore?

No. We will ask what you can sustain. The best dietary pattern for you is the one you will still be following in a year, hitting adequate protein and enough total energy to recover from training and treatment. Beyond that, the specifics matter far less than the internet insists.
